Triathlon Ireland Annual Awards Night. 2010

Triathlon Ireland Annual Awards Night.

As last season was only my 1st year in the sport of triathlon this was my 1st Triathlon Ireland Awards Night and hopefully the 1st of many.

I think everyone who will have been there will agree with me when I say that it was a brilliant night.

I think a big congratulations has to go to all the National Championship medallists, Conor Murphy and Elena Maslova winners of the overall National Champions and Aileen Morrison on winning Athlete of the year.

It was a brilliant night recognising the achievements of Triathlon Ireland in the past year and how far they have come along. Triathlon Ireland is only really finding its feet on the international scene and this year has been a real spring board for them and I believe this is only the start and there is much more to come.

I came across a good quote the other day and I believe it is sort of apt;

“Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”

Let’s show the rest of the Triathlon world what we can do!

The entertainment all night was very good, especially Brian Keane’s interview with Nicholas Roche which gave us a very exciting insight into how a professional cyclist lives and trains.

I was very lucky to receive Nicholas Roche’s cycle top which he was kind enough to sign for me which I am greatly thankful for. Even if it involved me taking my top off to get it I’m glad I did.

A very good night indeed looking forward to next year.
